The Chair of Building Materials is organized in working groups in accordance with the respective scientific tasks.

- Mineralogy and Inorganic Chemistry
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Anya Vollpracht,
- Environmental Compatibility of Building Materials
- Innovative Binders and Technology
Each working group is led by an experienced scientist. The group leader is responsible for the scientific work of the research projects and the execution of contract work in materials testing. Furthermore, they support the professor in his teaching activities.
A working group usually comprises two to three research assistants with optionally one assistant as head of the testing department.
Depending on the main focus of a working group a building material laboratory may be affiliated.
