Development of Special and High-Performance Concretes

The potential of mineral bound systems regarding their workability, strength, durability and deformation behavior is far from exhausted from today's perspective. Extremely high strength and particularly dense concretes are realizable. Special concretes and the adaption of the concrete mix designs to the required properties are among the core competencies of the working group. Therefore ibac was intensively involved in obtaining general technical approvals for these special concretes. The Institute has excellent practical experience in the application of special concretes as well as in the field of bridge construction.

Some of the ibac developed special concretes:

  • Textile reinforced concretes
  • Concretes with high demands on durability and quality of exposed concrete
  • Concrete with high frost and thaw resistance
  • Concretes for a dense secondary barrier against water polluting liquids
  • High-strength and dense tunnel building materials
  • Shotcretes for subsequent insulation of buildings with textile reinforced concrete
  • High-strength concretes with fly ash, without silica fume
  • Titanium dioxide modified concretes
